Cooperation in the wearing of your Headgear ("Night Brace")
is of major importance if orthodontic treatment is to
be maximal. Your are reminded that:
- A
minimum of ______ hours wear per day/night (including
weekends) will be required and at times you may be
required to wear your Headgear longer. For the first
month, you are permitted to gradually, day-to-day,
"build-up" to the amount of time you are required
to wear you headgear.
- Your
"back" teeth may be sore until they adjust to the
Headgear.
- Be
extremely careful when inserting and removing your
Headgear since you may loosen bands.
- Also
be careful not to bend or misplace your Headgear.
- Be
sure to bring your Headgear with you to each
appointment.
- Finally,
remember that the length of your orthodontic treatment
may be shortened if your Headgear is worn properly.
BE
SURE TO UPSTRAP YOUR HEADGEAR BEFORE REMOVING IT FROM
YOUR MOUTH. SERIOUS FACIAL / EYE INJURIES MAY OCCUR.
