Cooperation in the wearing of your Headgear ("Night Brace") is of major importance if orthodontic treatment is to be maximal. Your are reminded that:

  1. A minimum of ______ hours wear per day/night (including weekends) will be required and at times you may be required to wear your Headgear longer. For the first month, you are permitted to gradually, day-to-day, "build-up" to the amount of time you are required to wear you headgear.

  2. Your "back" teeth may be sore until they adjust to the Headgear.

  3. Be extremely careful when inserting and removing your Headgear since you may loosen bands.

  4. Also be careful not to bend or misplace your Headgear.

  5. Be sure to bring your Headgear with you to each appointment.

  6. Finally, remember that the length of your orthodontic treatment may be shortened if your Headgear is worn properly.

BE SURE TO UPSTRAP YOUR HEADGEAR BEFORE REMOVING IT FROM YOUR MOUTH. SERIOUS FACIAL / EYE INJURIES MAY OCCUR.
