* The teeth will be sore for a few days after bands/brackets are placed and during the continuation of your treatment. Generally, this is normal.

* The teeth and "gums" must be cleaned thoroughly several times a day with a soft toothbrush, proxabrush, and dental floss (adults).

* Wax will be provided to place over any bracket or band that is irritating you.

* You should eat a well balanced diet. AVOID HARD OR STICKY FOODS SUCH AS CARMELS, TAFFY, CANDY APPLES, PRETZELS, POPCORN, ICE, GUM, AND PIZZA CRUST. CUT-UP RAW VEGETABLES AND FRUIT BEFORE EATING THEM.
